Since its creation, the watch has appeared on the wrists of many racing icons such as Joe Siffert, Jochen Rindt, and a true friend of the brand, Steve McQueen, who famously wore a TAG Heuer Monaco in the 1971 film “Le Mans”, and whose watch became synonymous with his style. Its bold, square case design and innovative chronograph functions were unlike anything else on the market then, and quickly became synonymous with the brand, gaining a following among racing enthusiasts and watch lovers alike. Introduced in 1969, the TAG Heuer Monaco quickly became one of the most iconic watches in history. This extension consists of three new timepieces, each with its unique inspiration. These new watches presented for the 80th Monaco Grand Prix, a partnership that is close to TAG Heuer’s heart, mark the brand’s first use of a skeleton dial within its Monaco collection. Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer is launching the latest addition to its iconic Monaco collection with new and colorful TAG Heuer Monaco chronograph timepieces. The colourway theme continues as accents on the movement as well. Two in a sand blasted titanium case for the blue and black models, and in a black DLC titanium for the turquoise model which an very nominal CHF 500 price hike. The novelties are available in 39mm nominal case size (its a rounded square case!), and in three versions. The Heuer 02 movement features an 80 hour power reserve, and generally regarded as technically superior to the Caliber 11. But the movement is now the in-house Caliber Heuer 02 instead of the Caliber 11R. The case is the same as the Monaco Gulf Edition which we were particularly excited about. The base Monaco Chronograph remains unchanged. What’s new? The new open worked dial with brilliant colour accents in blue, black and turquoise.
